Mr. Jerry Luther Sewell

The funeral service for Mr. Jerry Luther Sewell, 67, of Oxford, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Interment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Sewell passed away on October 17, 2018. Mr. Sewell was a native of Oxford. He graduated in 1969 from Oxford High School and enlisted in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, he went to work at the Anniston Army Depot. While working at the depot he attended and graduated with his Bachelor's degree from The University of Alabama. He went on to retire from the Depot in 2006. He was a huge fan of any sport of The University of Alabama. He also enjoyed watching his sons play sports all the way from Little League through college and continued that with his grandchildren. Mr. Sewell enjoyed anything outside and spending time with his dogs. Mr. Sewell is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Clark and Mary Elizabeth Crump Sewell and sister Judy Spierling. He is survived by his sons, Jeremy Sewell and his wife, Rebecca, and Brent Sewell and his wife, Shannon; grandchildren, Kelsey Sewell, Coby Sewell, Grayson Sewell, Madison Hadley, Brodie Sewell, and Blake Sewell; a brother, Terry Wayne Sewell and his wife, Denise; and sister, Caroline Milam .
