Marvin Joe Forsyth Obituary

Marvin Joe Forsyth, 75, of Temple, Ga. passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born September 10, 1939 in Anniston, Alabama to the late William Taft Forsyth and Jessie Lois Chapman Forsyth. He worked for more than 20 years with General Motors on the assembly line. He was a member of Life Gate Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Opal Marie Cargal Forsyth; son, Michael Keith Forsyth; two brothers, Alvin Forsyth and Howard Forsyth; a sister, Linda Forsyth Shears. Survivors include his children, Shannon and Robert Hummer, of Temple, Ga., Angie and Scott Hopson, of Franklin, Ga., Tammy and Noe Martinez, of Villa Rica, Ga., Ricky and Dawn Forsyth, of Forest Park, Ga., and Chad and Brandy Forsyth, of Weaver, Ala.; sister, Ann Pollard, of Anniston, Ala.; six grandchildren, Amy Hewell, Chanda Coffman, Brittany Stikes, Katie Hummer, Brock Hopson and Emily Hummer; 12 great- grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. Funeral service was conducted Monday, January 19, 2015 at 2 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow in Anniston Memorial Garden. Those serving as pallbearers will be David Wigginton, Jason Cofield, James Higdon, Brandon Turner, Chase Garner, and David Hewell. The family received friends Monday, January 19, 2015 from 12 p.m. until the hour of service. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
