Mona Cantor Cherry

Mona Cantor Cherry, 71 passed away on June 12, 2018. Mona was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and enjoyed researching and sharing her family's genealogy. She was also a Foster Parent with Seraaj Family Homes for 19 years. Mona had such a heart for helping the many children who stayed in her home over the years. She was employed with McClellan Assisted Living, where the residents held a special place in her heart. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, R.C. Cantor and Dahlia Medders Cantor; a sister, Vista Fay Cantor; three brothers, Robert L. Cantor, David L. Cantor and Joseph L. Cantor and her son Jerry W. Collins Jr. She is survived by her two daughters Shree Collins (and her special friend Dr. Phillip Austin) and Shea Cherry Knight (Jim) and a daughter in-law Ginger Collins; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Anderson (Dean), Michael Haynes (Crystal), Zachary Barker (Rachael), Cantor (Kelsie), Taylor (Brooke) and Grey Knight, Tara Collins (Thorsten), Courtney Carpenter (Robert), Jacob Collins (Ana) and Dylan Collins (Amber); 10 great grandchildren, Kelsey, Emily, Preston, Allegra, Madison, Jacie, Veda, Jaden, Connor and Jazzie, 1 sister Jeanenne Cantor Graham and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Mona was forever dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She cherished her relationships with her extended family as well. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
