Reverend Charles "Button" Wood Obituary

Funeral service for Reverend Charles Wood "Button" 71, will be on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Springhill Baptist Church with the Rev. Shirleen Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in the Lineville City Cemetery. Reverend Wood passed away on December 28, 2015 at the Clay County Hospital. Reverend Wood's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Public visitation will be today noon - 5 p.m. at the Bethleham UMC. Reverend Wood retired from Ace Products and later worked with Clay County Board of Education at the Lineville Elementary School. His Pastoral service has been with Young's Chapel, Burks Chapel, Mt. Tabor UMC, Kellyton Chapel UMC, Union Chapel UMC. Survivors include his wife, Maudie Cille Wood; his children, Rev Darryl Wood (Rose), Rev. Kiki-LaSha' Wood Terry, Minister of Music Bettina Wood-DeWalt (Bruce); his siblings, Eddie Wood (Carolyn), John Wood, Wille Wood (Melissa), Rosie Jones, Mary Wood and Beverly Wood (Roger); sister-in-law, Loretta Wood; and daughter/grand-daughter, Kayla Ellis; eight additional grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Naomi Turman Wood; siblings, Carey Wood, Ellis Wood, Bertha Nell Wilson; son-in-law, Sean C. Terry; grandson, Courtney Mckinney; brother- in-law, Lindburgh Jones; mother and father in-law, Evelyn Tulloch and Jessie B. Lindsey. Anniston Funeral Service Rev. Jeffrey C. Williams 256-236-0319
