Stephen Thomas Furtick Obituary

Stephen Thomas Furtick, 55, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at his residence. Born in Columbia, S.C., he was the son of Betty Stephens Furtick and the late Rawls O'Neal Furtick. He grew up in Batesburg, S.C. and was a graduate of Clemson University. Steve was the Director of Operator Services at Earthlink in Anniston, Alabama. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen King Furtick, of the home; a daughter, Karen Ashley Furtick, of the home; a son, Ryan Thomas Furtick, of Jacksonville, Ala.; two brothers, Phil (June) Furtick and Douglas Furtick, of Leesville, S.C.; two sisters, Deb (Ed) Farris, of York, S.C. and Dianne (Randy) Miles, of Gilbert, S.C.; he is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Larry and Ann King and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy (Tony) Berryhill, Cindy (Bobby) Peeler and Vicki King and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held today, May 8, 2015 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by family and friends. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of Larry and Ann King, 2507 Cobbs Way, Anderson, S.C. 29621 and will receive friends at the funeral home today prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 A message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.mcdougaldfuneralhome.com The McDougald Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Anderson, S.C.
