Alan L. Wohl, 79, loving husband and father, and local, real estate attorney, died on September 20th, 2017.

Alan was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Plainfield, NJ and was a long-time resident of Bridgewater before moving to Somerset, NJ. He attended Plainfield High School. He graduated from Seton Hall in 1960, and then earned his JD from Temple Law in 1963. He started his career working at Schachter & Wohl in Somerville. Then in 1985, he was a sole practitioner; the firm later became Wohl, Goldstein, & Zalewski, P.A in Somerville. In 2008, he was honored with the distinguished Professional Lawyer of the Year Award by the Somerset County Bar Association. Alan was a past president (1972-74) of Temple Beth-El in Hillsborough, NJ.

Alan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Gail; his three daughters, Sheila Wohl Chandonnet (Raymond Chandonnet), Debra Wohl (David Bowne), and Andrea Wohl Keefe (Colin Keefe); and his five grandchildren, Julia and Henry Chandonnet, Benjamin and Maria Wohlbowne, and Samuel Keefe. He is also survived by his brother, Bennet Wohl (Toube), as well as many friends and family who will miss him greatly.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Sunday, September 24th at Temple Beth-El, 67 US Highway 206, Hillsborough, NJ. Interment will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin, NJ. Arrangements by Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville. Shiva will be observed at 17 Republic Row, Somerset, NJ 08873 (Enter Canal Walk Community at 112 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset) following interment and also on Monday, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
