Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home Inc. - Pearl River on Nov. 15, 2025.
Andrew Glenn Wohl, 64, passed away on November 11, 2025, in New York, New York. Born on October 13, 1961, in Forest Hills, Queens, Andrew-known to many as Drew-lived a life marked by deep passion, unwavering dedication, and a profound love for family, friends, and community.
Drew's academic journey was as impressive as his professional one. He earned his MBA from Pace University before pursuing a Juris Doctor degree from Villanova University. His career spanned the intersection of law and the music industry, where he left an indelible mark. He served as General Counsel at PolyGram and later as Director of Business and Legal Affairs at RCA Records. His entrepreneurial spirit led him Body Wisdom Media with his brother Michael Wohl and Tenderstone Entertainment.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Drew was a man of many passions. A gifted photographer with a keen eye for sports and music moments, he spent the past twelve years capturing memories as the team photographer for the New York Boulders baseball team. His work behind the lens brought joy to countless fans and players alike.
Drew was also an avid guitar player. His enthusiasm for sports was lifelong and deeply rooted; he was a devoted fan of the Yankees, Villanova Wildcats, New York Giants, and New York Knicks. Whether cheering from the stands or watching from home, Drew's loyalty never wavered.
A certified SCUBA diver with a deep appreciation for the ocean, Drew found peace beneath the waves. His award winning underwater photography and videography were expressions of his reverence for marine life and exploration. Though it saddened him when health challenges eventually kept him from diving, his memories of those adventures remained close to his heart.
In addition to these pursuits, Drew gave generously of his time and energy to serve others. For more than 22 years, he was a Life Member of the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps (SOAC), where he served not only as a dedicated EMT but also held leadership roles including Lieutenant, Assistant Chief, Vice President, and member of the Board of Directors. He was frequently recognized as a "top ten rider," reflecting both his commitment and compassion.
After being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer-a challenge that would have daunted many-Drew responded with characteristic determination. He took up triathlon training and went on to complete numerous Sprint and Half Ironman races both solo and in relay teams. Alongside his wife Sandrah Gurash and many family members and friends, he also participated in countless 5Ks, 10Ks, and half marathons. A cherished tradition was an annual cousins' trip to Las Vegas for the Rock'n'Roll Marathon weekend where they ran together under the neon lights along the Strip-a celebration of life that embodied Drew's spirit.
At the heart of everything Drew did was his love for people. He treasured time spent with family-his wife Sandrah Gurash; his brother Michael Wohl; nieces; nephews; cousins-and friends who became like family over time. He honored those who came before him including his father Stuart Wohl and mother Linda Harris.
Drew lived fully-with courage in adversity, joy in everyday moments, generosity in service to others-and leaves behind a legacy rich in memories made through shared experiences.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire lives filled with purpose, passion, and love. A Funeral Service will be held on November 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sorce Funeral Home 34 N Summit St., Pearl River NY. Interment to follow at Temple Israel Memorial Park, Blauvelt NY
