Alice Bowne Obituary

Alice Bowne

Wall Township - Alice Bowne, 85, of Wall Township passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at her home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with ALS. Alice was a lifelong resident of Wall Township and a graduate of Manasquan High School. She worked as a secretary for Sea Girt Army Camp prior to her marriage. After raising her family she worked as a receptionist for a doctor's office and also in the Allaire State Park General Store for over 20 years. Alice was a member of the Allaire Village Auxiliary and the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Catherine of Sienna, Farmingdale. She loved all animals and was a huge supporter of Rescue Ridge; she enjoyed crafting, sewing, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and watching the many birds and deer in her backyard.

Alice was predeceased by her husband of 33 years Leslie Bowne in 1989. She is survived by her loving sons and their wives Butch and Debbie Bowne of Howell and Tommy and Barbara Bowne of Brick. Alice is also survived by her four cherished grandchildren Jason (Chrissy) Bowne, Kristin (Mike) Adams, Rob (Lauren) Bowne, and Andrew (Sara) Bowne; four great grandchildren Emilia, Adelyn, Harper, and Kessler; and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Bob Clayton of Point Pleasant.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at St. William the Abbot Church, Howell. Burial will be private at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Joan Dancy & PALS (People with ALS) Foundation, Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center, P.O. Box 8157, Red Bank, NJ 07701 or Rescue Ridge, P.O. Box 223, Spring Lake, NJ 07762. Arrangements are under the care of Orender Family Home for Funerals.
