Ann Meyer Obituary

Ann C. Meyer

AGE: 77 • Rumson

Ann C. Meyer, 77, of Rumson passed away on February 16, 2016. She received her degree in Fine Arts from Monmouth University and continued her appreciation of art throughout her life. Ann began her career as publisher of Homes Magazine, then at Chase Manhattan as a mortgage broker for 13 years. She then moved to Arlington Capital for another 8 years, retiring in 2007. Ann was involved with the Red Bank Borough Education Foundation and helped work on the first gala to raise money for STEM at the primary school. Ann's deep love for animals was evident by her faithful 42-year support of the Monmouth County SPCA.

Ann is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, George J. Meyer; her daughter, Georgina Sullivan and her husband Casey and their daughters Hallie and Cleary; her son Jonathan Meyer and his wife Judy; and her sister Georgina Bak and her husband William; and her beloved dog J'adore.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 20 from 2 to 5pm at Thompson Funeral Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's memory made to the Monmouth County SPCA, PO Box 93, Eatontown, NJ 07724, would be greatly appreciated. Per her wishes, there will be a celebration of her life planned this Summer at the beach - date and details to follow. Ann was a bright light that illuminated so many of our hearts and souls and is going to be so terribly missed.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Ann's passing... She was such a beautiful woman and had the kindest heart of anyone I've ever known. Smart, funny, creative, and wow, could she cook! She was my Mom's dearest friend and we all loved Annie...So many happy memories as a child and as an adult of times spent in her good company. She had that great gift of making you feel better about yourself and was always available for her friends, no matter how busy she was. I cannot imagine how heartbroken George, Gina, and Jonathan must be. You are in our thoughts and prayers and can only hope that you find some comfort in knowing how loved Ann is and how many lives she touched. She was one of a kind and we will hold her in our hearts. I can see her sitting on a beach having a laugh with my Mom, so beautiful, watching over us.

I loved Ann--for her kind soul, her inclusiveness, her artistic eye, her wit, and for always making time to have dinner with me when I was in NJ for a few days, no matter her busy schedule. The hole in my heart is palpable.
