Ann Prentice Obituary
Hazlet - Ann J. Prentice, 85, of Hazlet, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, NY she also resided in Staten Island, NY before moving to Hazlet 58 years ago.
Mrs. Prentice enjoyed her career as a Registered Nurse, employed in Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank for many years and later for the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey. Always a creative person, she enjoyed art and passionately explored new painting techniques and classes. She was also an avid reader. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Hugh Prentice in 2012. Surviving are her children and their spouses: Hugh Prentice, Jr. and Maria of Pittstown, Thomas Prentice and Therese of Skillman, Kathleen Handel and Henry of Aberdeen, Jeanne Rotolo and Peter of Middletown, Susan Zielinski and Charles of New Egypt; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; as well as her brother Adrian Gross and his wife Bonnie.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 8 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 9 at 10AM at St. Ann's R.C. Church in Keansburg. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery.

I met Annie in an art class several years ago. We developed a friendship and decided to take a trip to Charleston and Savanah which bonded us even more. We learned about each other's family by many stories. Her smile, warmth and laughter will always be remembered. I will always love her and miss her. My deepest condolences to all her family

Ann probably never realized what happiness and joy she brought to my Friday afternoon studio art class. ALWAYS happy, positive and most of all a very humble and an extremely talented artist. I would have never guessed her real age because her spirit was always filled with youth and LOVE. My condolences to her entire family, she loved each and everyone of you and you all made her world go around.
