Anna May Osterbye

AGE: 74 • Keansburg

Anna May Osterbye, nee McBride 74 of Keansburg, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 surrounded by her family. Anna May was born November 19, 1937 and spent the last 40 years of her life living in Keansburg, where she spent her summers as a child. While still living in Kearny, Anna May worked at different industrial plants in a number of positions; however, most of her life was spent as a devoted mother and grandmother. Anna May always faced her challenges with fortitude and perseverance, serving as an example to others. She was a woman of strong character who was extremely protective over her family and friends, loved horror movies and always tried to include her family in her fun. Anna May was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be sadly missed and always remembered. Anna May was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 2010. She is survived by her six children, Joseph Osterbye, Dora Osterbye, John Osterbye. Raymond Osterbye, June Ann Baker and Stacey Longden, and their respective spouses, as well as her sister, June McBride and 7 grandchildren Patrick, Ryan, Thomas, Angela, Joey Jr., Miranda Baker and Kara Baker. She also leaves behind Darlene Retana, who helped provide Anna May with loving care and support over the last 3 years. Anna May truly considered her as one of the family.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 4-8pm at the Laurel Funeral Home, 201 Laurel Avenue, West Keansburg, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday 10:30am at the funeral Home

Interment will follow at the Fair View Cemetery, Middletown, NJ 07701.
