Anthony Palmisano Obituary
Simpsonville, SC - Anthony F. Palmisano, 87, of Simpsonville, SC, formerly of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.
He was born in Silver Lake, Belleville and lived in Hillside and in Oakhurst, Ocean Township for 55 years before moving to Simpsonville in 2014.
He retired in 1990 as superintendent of the Eatontown Schools. Before that, he served a principal of the Bangs Avenue School in Asbury Park and the Swimming River School in Tinton Falls.
Tony was a communicant of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church (Our Lady of Hope Parish) in West Long Branch and a member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Jerome. He was a past member and captain of the Oakhurst Fire and First Aid and an EMT instructor at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.
He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Palmisano in May 2018; his parents, Ignazio and Santina Palmisano.
Surviving are his daughter, Joanne and her husband John Creed of Simpsonville; son, Tony and his wife Susan Palmisano; 6 grandchildren, Kaylee Creed and her husband Scotty, Ryan Kieran and Aiden Creed and Gina and Joe Palmisano and a great-grandson, Kaden.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Friday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Saturday at St. Jerome's Church in West Long Branch. Burial will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls.
