AGE: 97 • Bay Head
Borghild O. Cantelmo, RN, 97 of Bay Head passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2015. Mrs. Cantelmo was a registered nurse for 45 years in Essex County and volunteered at Point Pleasant Hospital for 11 years.
Born in West New York, she lived in Orange, Norway and Verona before moving to Bay Head 30 years ago.
She married Alphonse L. Cantelmo, MD and had three children, Nancy Cantelmo of Nahant, MA, Diane Hawks of Toms River and Ernest Cantelmo of Tequesta, FL; 5 grandchildren, Mariana McCarthy, Samuel Rauworth, Jodie Hanrahan, Allison Amato, Erin and Alan Cantelmo; and 5 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Michael, Olivia, Connor, and Brayden.
Visiting will be on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at 6:45 pm in the funeral home. A service of remembrance will be held at St. Paul Methodist Church, 423 West Lake Avenue, Bay Head, on Monday, September 28th at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The Make A Wish Foundation, Wish.org or to the Ronald McDonald House, Philarmh.org. So sorry I did not receive this news until late last night. I have not been feeling well and did not check my E-Mail to get this sad news. I would have liked to go to the Funeral Home and the Church service for her. I will miss our visits very much. She shared many interesting stories. She was also a great listener and gave great advise. We became good Friends and I will remember her always. She will be greatly missed. Sincere condolences to her family.

I always enjoyed our yearly chat fests in Bayhead, a home I remember fondly from my childhood. Bert was such an interested and interesting person. She would tell me stories about my mother that I always enjoyed. May fond memories be a comfort to you all. God bless.
