AGE: 83 • Berkeley Twsp.
Carina Uva (nee DiCecco), 83 of Holiday City Carefree, Berkeley Twsp, NJ, died on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ, she lived in Irvington, NJ before moving to Holiday City Carefree in 2002.
She worked for Lionel Trains in Hillside, NJ and then for the Irvington Board of Education as Secretary in the Guidance Dept. Carina was a past PTA President in Irvington, a member of the Italian American Club, a volunteer with the Free Care Program in Holiday City Carefree and an active member of Deborah.
She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Uva. Carina is survived by her sons Anthony M. Uva of Bernardsville, NJ, Joseph Uva and his wife Karen of Raleigh, NC and Michael Uva and his wife Fran of Toms River, two sisters Lucy Zaleznak of Warren, NJ and Marie D'Amato of Georgia and 4 loving grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday September 15, 2015 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ. A funeral service will be offered Wednesday, September 16, 2015 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Donations in memory of Carina may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com.

My husband, Michael, and I were good friends of Tony and Carina, and her brother Jimmy, many years ago,in Irvington. Have many fond memories of them. They were good people. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
