Colleen A. Burr, 54, of Neptune City, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Neptune, she remained a lifelong resident of the Shark River Hills/Neptune area. A graduate of the Neptune High School Class of 1972, Mrs. Burr was employed with the Rittenhouse-Kerr Lincoln - Mercury / Ford Dealer of Asbury Park and Red Bank as the parts administrator for over 30 years before retiring in January 2009. Mrs. Burr was a life member of the Shark River Hills Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Predeceased by her father, Francis Allan Cramer, in 2004, Mrs. Burr is survived by her beloved mother, Margaret Justice Cramer; her loving husband, Larry Burr of Neptune City; and her devoted children, Jenny Cavanaugh and her fiancé Frankie Ali of Spring Lake, and Brett Burr of Neptune City. Mrs. Burr is also survived by her siblings, Peggy Ann Latshaw and her husband Walter of Shark River Hills, Robert Cramer and his wife Susan of Beachwood, Herbert Cramer of Shark River Hills, and Denise Cramer of Wall. In addition to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at the Johnson McGinley Funeral Home, 2652 Highway 138, Wall, adjacent to the Route 18 north entrance. During the evening the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shark River Hills Volunteer Fire Company will conduct a service. On Friday, July 3 at noon, funeral services will be offered at the funeral home by Pastor Brian Eble of the First United Methodist Church of Oakhurst. Interment will follow at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Burr may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Central Jersey Chapter, 740 Broad St., Shrewsbury, NJ 07702.
