Danny,
In my heart, you will always be a lively performer in "Synergy", and a crucial member of the "Family of Clowns". Keep singing and dancing!

To Bridget and all the Petraitis Family:
Please accept my sincere sympathy on Danny's passing.
I shall always remember and cherish how kind and courteous he was to me every time I visited Nashville either at the High Five Office or on a location. He always went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and welcome.
And I was always so grateful when he arranged entry for me to a variety of country music events not directly involved with High Five; be they at The Opry or in South Carolina.
And I shall always remember the great time I had at the end of Martin Fischer's wedding reception at the hotel when Danny played the piano for several of us into the wee hours of the morning.
in closing, let me say that I have been greatly saddened since the contact was lost with Danny after Bud's departure from the scene in 2000. But, mind you, I thought about you all many, many times over the years since.
And when I heard of Danny's illness, I prayed for all of you throughout these past many weeks.
It shall be my ongoing prayer that God will give you strength and His peace in these difficult days your are experiencing.
My love to you all.

To me and my pals growing up in Sunken City ("Shorecrest" to our 1960's parents), Danny was one of the older kids in the neighborhood and was considered "cool". A regular at the Bodman Park basketball courts.

The brightest smile, the bravest heart, the most loving soul...these are the gifts God gave us when he gave us Danny. To have been part of his life and family is a gift I am so lucky to have been given. The last time I spoke to Danny, he sang to me. His songs will continue to inspire us. There is no doubt that as we doze off to sleep we will hear him singing and reminding us to be strong, to laugh, to love, to share and no matter what...live every day to its fullest.

Danny was a part of our family and will be missed. Mom loved hearing him sing and tell jokes. He even made Dad laugh a little.
Love to Bridgett and the kids.

I was at the Red Bank Jazz And Blues Festival in New Jersey today to hear Grupo Yuri, a band fronted by long-time music friend Yuri Turchyn on electric violin. Yuri introduced one of the songs dedicating it to a colleague who had just passed on and was knocking on heaven's door. It took the breath right out of me when the name he said was that of Daniel Petraitis, one of the most talented and nicest people that I knew.
I am glad to have had the chance to work with him in the studio and in live situations, and to have shared time with him and the others that we made music with. The last time I saw him was a couple years ago at a Twilight Concert benefit for the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children that he came back up to Jersey to perform with many of the people he played with for years, among them two of my family members... I never once figured that that would be the last time I would see and hear him.
My deepest condolences to Bridget, the children and the family.
I sure am gonna miss him... Rest In Peace Daniel. May we all be comforted by our memories of you in our lives.

I am so sorry for your loss and Danny left us all with wonderful memories. He lived every day to the fullest. My fondest memory will be of him coming into the preschool to drop off the kids and most of the time stopping by the fellowship hall to play a tune on the piano. He filled the hallway with such special sounds, which just made our day! Please know that we are praying for you all at Glen Leven Day School.

Danny, you were the one-man welcoming committee for me when I came to Nashville in '93 - now you're working those mansions upstairs. Thank you for making this world a wilder, more wonderful, loving place.
