David Roeber Obituary

David L. Roeber, Esq.

AGE: 43 • Forked River

David Leonard Roeber, 43, a loving husband and devoted father passed away on July 15, 2015. He married his high school sweetheart, Faye Mackres on May 26, 1996, and had three beautiful boys, George 17, Thomas 11, and Evan 10. David had a kind and generous heart and was always ready to help anyone in need.

David was a graduate of Rutgers University and Brooklyn Law School. He and his wife were the former owners of the Forked River House. He was the owner of the law firm, Law Offices of David L. Roeber, LLC, Lacey Rd., Forked River, NJ.

David was a true family man. He cherished his children and created a beautiful life for them with his wife Faye, the love of his life.

David and his family enjoyed many winters full of skiing adventures. He was an avid skier, and took the boys night skiing, under the lights down black diamond trails. In the spring he enjoyed riding quads with his boys. He loved watching his little sailors sail their opti boats on the Toms River and going boating and fishing on Barnegat Bay every summer. Most of all David loved his summers traveling to Greece.

In addition to his beloved wife of 19 years and three sons he is survived by his loving father Leonard Roeber and mother Claire, his brother Eric Roeber, his sister Kristin and her husband Chris Soleau. His dear father-in-law George Mackres and mother-in-law, Aphrodite Mackres. His brother-in-law, Nick Mackres and wife, Politimi. His sisters-in-law Johanna Kaplanidis and her husband John, Angela Martin and her husband Spyro. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be forever in our hearts and minds. We will never forget the joy he brought to our lives. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and gentle smile, and his generous heart. David was a member of St Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River, NJ.

Visitation will be Monday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Layton's Home For Funerals, Forked River. A funeral service will be held 10am Tuesday at St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church, Toms River. Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated. I just can't believe it! I would run across Dave Roeber's name every now and then when I would check see who my not too many Twitter followers are (yes, he was one) or when I would send an email to somebody else and gmail thinks I might be meaning him. I'd been out of touch with him but he was a great, great, GREAT guy.

I just found out about a half an hour ago and I'm at the office now so I can't cry but as soon as I get outside and am relatively alone, I'll be wailing! I took the most beautiful pictures of Dave and Faye at that beautiful wedding of theirs in New Jersey and it wasn't my photographic skills that made them great photos -- they were a STUNNING, STUNNING COUPLE! I remember I went to the bank and got a hundred dollars in $2 bills because I was alerted to the fact that people customarily threw money at Greek weddings. They were one of the most beautiful couples I'd ever know and some of the nicest people anyone could ever ever know and their children were just about as close to perfect as you'd expect an Earthling to be! I am so sorry...

Dear Mrs. and Mr. Roeber , Eric, Kristin, Faye, George, Thomas and Evan,

Our hearts are forever broken, your pain will always be lamented in our prayers to the Lord. King David said in 2 Samuel 12:23 ".... I shall go to him, ...." Surely, all true believers will be reunited one sweet day in heaven with our merciful Lord. Please hold on to that hope and ever live that soft, spoken kindness David exuded amongst all people he came across. We miss you so much already David.

all of our love,
Barbara, Jimmy, Erica, Felicia, Justin, Jonathan, Jocelyn, Adrienne and Alexander
