David Sims Obituary

DAVID SIMS
AGE: 82 RED BANK
David Sims, 82, of Red Bank, NJ, son of the late Linzey and Anna Sims, departed this life on Saturday, January 1, 2011. He was educated in the Red Bank School System. David was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and spent 21 months as a driver for a communications unit in Korea. He was a longtime employee of Fred D. Wikoff Co., in Red Bank. He built a positive rapport with his employer, which was more of a family oriented environment. The working relationship lasted over a 62 year span. David was also an ordained Deacon at St. Paul Baptist Church, in Red bank. David demonstrated a willingness to serve his Lord Jesus Christ in every fashion. His church home at St.Paul was his comfort.
In addition to his parents David was predeceased by his wife Mary Lou Sims of 47 years, sisters Mattie Sims, and Stella Johnson, brothers Arnold Sims and Junis Sims. He leaves to honor his memory, one sister Elizabeth Sims of Red Bank, and four brothers Linzey Sims, Richard Sims both of Red Bank, Arthur Sims of Eatontown, George Sims of Asbury Park, and a host of relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held for Mr. Sims from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church, Red Bank, NJ. The service will begin at 11:00 A.M. immediately following the viewing hours. Interment will be held at White Ridge Cemetery, Eatontown, NJ. Childs Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements.

To the Sims family(my cousins) It was such a shock to learn of David's passing,but I know he is with his Lord and savior now and he's happy.
