David Zagata

East Brunswick - David Zagata, age 69, of East Brunswick, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

Born in South Amboy he had resided in Sayreville before moving to East Brunswick 32 years ago. Before his retirement he was employed as an Operations Supervisor for CoconoPhillips in Linden. David was a US Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 211 in Sayreville and an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 109 in East Brunswick. He enjoyed golf, photography and travelling. He was a communicant of St Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carol Cholewa Zagata, his devoted son and daughter-in-law Craig and Allison Zagata of Philadelphia, PA, his parents Frank and Theresa Zagata of Sayreville, his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Patricia Zagata of Sayreville, his sister-in-law Sister Mary Laverne Cholewa, his nephew Ronald Kuran and his wife Lynn of Jackson and numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services are private under the direction of the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Sayreville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David's name to St Stanislaus Church, 221 MacArthur Ave, Sayreville, NJ 08872. Letters of condolence for the family may be left at www.maliszewskimemorialhome.com.
