Donald Shurts Obituary

Donald Shurts

AGE: 78 • Howell

Donald Shurts, 78, of Howell, died on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, peacefully, at home, surrounded by loved ones. He was a captain in the Army National Guard where he served for 10 years before being honorably discharged. He owned and operated his business, Don Shurts Picture Frames and Moulding, for more than 40 years and never officially retired.

He was a lover of animals. He would do anything for his pets and often took care of strays. He enjoyed the great variety of birds that gathered around the feeders which he placed outside his home and the deer would often wait patiently while he brought them apples.

He is survived by his wife, Kazia; daughter, Maria; son, Eric; grandchildren, Audra and Rylee; and cat, Teddy Bear.

Private services will be held.
