DORIS K. SHERIDAN
AGE: 94 FORMERLY OF SPRING LAKE
Doris K. Sheridan, 94, died Saturday, July 4, 2009, in Williamsville, N.Y. Born in Newark in 1914, Doris spent most of her life in New Jersey, first in Irvington, then in Spring Lake, where she was a member of St. Catharine's parish. She moved to Western New York to be near family and enjoyed nine years as a resident at Canterbury Woods in Williamsville. She loved to sing and wrote songs and poems for special occasions that delighted friends and family throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her father, Otto Kollmar; her mother, Dora Kollmar; her brother, Raymond Kollmar; and her beloved husband, Charles E. Sheridan. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Patricia and John Lavin, and Nancy and Robert Montgomery; five grandchildren and spouses, Thea and Eric Lange, Stephen and Jean Lavin, Carolyn Lavin, Terri and Terence Ruh, and Esme Montgomery; and seven great-grandchildren, Tess, Grace, Dan, Megan, Nathan, Thomas and Elizabeth.
Doris made an anatomical gift to the University of Buffalo, therefore a funeral will not be held. A memorial service will be held in New Jersey at a future date. Contributions may be made in her name to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to her daughters at [email protected] or [email protected].
