AGE: 94 • Barnegat

Edward Feess, age 94, of Barnegat passed away on Tuesday November 6, 2012 at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell, NJ. Mr. Feess was a lifelong resident of Barnegat where he ran Ed's Market for many years with his wife Lillian. Ed was an Army Veteran serving during WWII. Mr. Feess was a member of the Barnegat Fist Aid, Barnegat Cemetery Association, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10092, where he was a charter member, and the American Legion, where he was a charter member and the Former Commander, all of Barnegat. He was an avid Hunter and Fisherman and also enjoyed gardening.

Mr. Feess is survived by his wife of 67 years Lillian Rebecca Gainey, his daughter Barbara Steinke and her husband Fred of Laurel Springs NJ, two grandchildren Beth Scholze, and her husband Peter, of Santa Monica, CA, Frederick Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, of NYC. Two great grandchildren Rebecca, and Matthew, Mr. Feess is also survived by his sister Wilma Parker of Tuckerton and many loving nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Friday November 9, 2012 from 7 - 9 pm at the Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home 335 S. Main Street, Barnegat. There will also be a viewing on Sautrday from 10 until time a service at 11am, Interment shall follow at the Barnegat Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Avenue, Suite 1802, New York, New York 10001, in Mr. Feess' memory.

As a boy, Ed Feess was known as "Jake" and he, "Grappy, and my father - Charles M. Conrad were the best of friends in the best of times in Barnegat. Ed's stories of war in Africa, hunting in Barnegat, and the old times just went on and on. He was part oof the greatest generation of a once great Barnegat. Rest iin peace. Grove Conrad, Lower Bank
