I was dearly Saddened and Shocked to hear the shocking of my Family Care Provider. I had only known Dr. B for only 4 years but I felt like I had known him my whole life. He was compassionate comforting and caring. Even though he was always busy he took the time to explain and calm our fears. He is my inspiration to continue and complete my nursing career and emulate his genuine concern. He will be missed.

I'm am SO heartbroken and saddened to hear of his passing! He was my physician ever since I moved to Hillsborough, in 1992. He always took good care of me and we always had a laugh or two when I would see him in the office. I am just as a loss over his passing since we were the same age. I will miss him dearly and my family's heart and prayers go out to his family - he will always be remembered in my heart.

A Flash Back in memory of Dr. Edwin S. Bernardo

He was the Godfather of my eldest daughter Angelique,he gave Angelique a bible as his gift, he wrote in his dedication: Dear Angelique, this bible is my gift to you, may you have time reading this when you have known how to read. May your Dad and mam too.
As i red this dedication, i realized how close is he to God, we should take him as an example.
Onother memory that I can never forget is when we were small children, we use to play together, sometime he come to our house to sleep over the night, I remember he has his johnson powder with him,he use to say that powder is a protection against mosquito bite.. but before we really go to sleep, we will go first outside to look in the sky to count the stars and to wait for a falling star to whisper our wishes, nobody will go to bed without seeing the falling stars. After an hour of 2 there is the falling stars no words just be quiet, after the falling star disappeared then we can speak out what we have wishes. He will be the first one who will ask, he asked me what i wish, i answer him that my wish is to have an orphanage a home for less fortunate children. My turn to ask Edwin, then his answer without any doubt was, that " I want to be a doctor" to help the people too.
Well both of our wishes come true, I have my home for the street children and he manage to be a doctor, an excellent doctor. Doctor who has love and patience with compassion, a concern practioner, a perfect father and a loving husband and good brother. For sure Dr.Edwin S. Bernardo have allready a secured place with our God Allmighty, he accomplished allready his mission down here, his new mission up there is to guide and counsil his family with his mighty spirit together with the Lord above. Cousin Dr. Edwin S. Bernardo, where ever you are, we are proud of you.
MAY YOU REST IN GOD PEACE.

I am always proud of you "kuya"(brother). You are very smart. Our financial situation didn't become a hindrance for you to reach your goals and become who you are. You are very bright. For any questions or doubts you always have the right answers whether it's for myself, siblings or even for my children. You are always our advisor to personal issues, family matters and medical problems. You always reminded that, prevention is better than treatment. You are a very simple person that your richness is in your heart and your true God loving person you are. I am truly proud of you! You
will always be in our prayers. I do believe that you are already with God. Please help me pray that if death happens to me, I do hope that my children are grown. I love you kuya and you will be missed so much!

To the Bernado Family:

Dr. Bernardo was the best doctor I have ever had. I was a patient of his since he came to the Hillsborough Medical group and rarely saw anyone else in all these years. I will miss him so much. He was the first doctor ever to take the time to explain things to me. Why he was prescribing a certain medication, the reasons for my illness and on and on. He was so proud when I dropped my 70 pounds and took up running. I think he was more proud of me then I was. I will miss him so much. My sincere condolences.

Angie and Kids
I remember the guy who mowed the lawn, painted the walls in the house, chaffeured kids, built a playhouse. He loved each of his children for the person they are. And fulfilled all his marriage vows to his bride, they may have had some disagreements as all couples do, some louder than others. He always would say there is going to be a party, you will come over, and the house was always full with good clean fun. Singing karoke, enjoying good food, going to Patricia's play, taking Nikka to work with him. Gracious host. Emelda living with them. Angie my friend this is one family event that we all could have missed, wish I was there for you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with each one of you.

Dr. Bernardo was my primary care physician since I moved to Hillsborough in 1997. Despite his hectic schedule he always had time for a brief chat. We also saw each other at the occasional 5k races around Hillsborough. We ran in the back of the pack while his sons ran at the front.

I will miss him very much as he was a kind and gentle soul. My sincere condolences to his family.

To Dr. Bernardo's family, my family's prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. It was a blessing to have met him and to have been under his care. He was my classmate from 3rd grade up to high school. He's an excellent student especially in science class.
Then after 32 years, in 2007... we met again with some classmates of ours, then this year, twice- in May and recently in July @ our grand high school reunion there in New Jersey. He was pretty much excited to see familiar faces, eagerly hearing fresh news about anyone in our class whom he could recall names and picture out his/her face and reminished
our group experiments in science.Their group, led by him did the cough syrup from "salay"a lemon grass family.Theirs was the best.

Edwin,where ever you are, you'll
be missed by us. Thank you very much for
some medical/health advices I learned from you.I always believe in you. You will always be our great thinker and
