I think of you every day. You would have been 47 tomorrow but will be 46 forever. I pray that you are having a peaceful eternal life, Eric. I hope both you and Patsy are. Life was hard, death was sorrowful. I pray peace came after. I will always love you so much and miss you. Happy birthday in heaven, to a kind and gentle soul.

I got a haircut on Thursday. Afterwards, Aunt Julie had her hand on the back of my neck. At the very same moment, we both remarked that I had "points". Few will know what this means, but Eric would.
'cle frank.
Eric had a radiant smile. Rest in peace, until we meet again.

I was driving back from Belmar Sunday, so upset, and it was raining and starting to hail so badly. The last cd you burned me was playing which made it harder particularly by the songs you chose. I was searching my thoughts and heart and God for an answer and as I pulled into my driveway, precisely as I pulled in, the rain stopped, the clouds peeled back and a beautiful double rainbow appeared in the sky at about 8pm and remained until sundown. I got the only answer I needed, the only one that matters now- you are with God. I know it and I am so grateful you have found peace in Him. You would appreciate the irony that the song on the cd was number 7, "I can see clearly now the rain is gone"... It is all clear to you now. You are your glorified, free self. No more struggling, no more stress, no more strife. Rest in peace, Eric O'Brien. Je t'aime, tous jours...

Oh my dear dear childhood friend. My heart is heavy with the news that you passed. I will forever regret never getting to reconnect to see each other as adults and meet each other's families. But the memories of our friendship and the fun we had as kids will always be precious. I will never forget you. Your family is in my prayers. God Bless you in heaven my friend.

I am truly saddened by the passing of Eric and extend my sincerest condolences to Patsy, Jack, Spencer and Grace as well as the rest of the O'Brien and McGrath families. Eric's wit and humor was endless. He was a hard worker, brimming with tenacity. He was an excellent loving and caring father and the type of man who would stop at nothing to help a friend in need. He will be sorely missed. The world will not be the same without him.
