Everett Morgan Obituary

(Asbury Park Press)

EVERETT "LARRY"
T. MORGAN
AGE: 68 BRIELLE
Everett "Larry" T. Morgan, age 68, of Brielle, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Affectionately known as "Love", Larry will be missed by many. Known for his witty sense of humor, Larry always brought a smile to everyone he met. Larry was a retired man who enjoyed his friends, family and hunting. Larry was a lifelong resident of Brielle, and there was not a street in Brielle that he drove down without beeping to or stopping to chat with a friend. Larry was a member of the Brielle First Aid Squad for 41 years. Larry attended Manasquan High School and played football under Coach Hal Manson, and also ran track. It was there that he met his wife of 44 years, Margaret "Sissy" Ferreira.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, William Cornelius and Martha Ellen (Richardson) Morgan; four brothers, Edsol, Leonard, Meldon and Norman; and one sister, Marva. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Morgan of Brielle; two daughters and one son-in-law, Elaine and Brian Scott, Sterling, Va., and Eileen Morgan, Manasquan; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Everett, Jr. and his wife Sheri, Neptune; Elliot and Allison of Brick; and Eric and Kristen of Point Pleasant. Larry also raised two nieces and two nephews as his own children, Kiva, Karriem, Kharaan and Khayana. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Carl, Brian, Alicia, Taylor, Scott, Everett III (Trey), Hunter and Kendall. Larry leaves to mourn his loss three brothers, Alfred, Eugene (Buddy) and William (Billy); and two sisters, Willa Mae Fickling and Roselle Travis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Larry will be missed by his Chocolate Lab, Kias.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held Saturday June 27 from 10 to 12 noon at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A funeral service will be held same day at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's honor may be made to the Brielle First Aid Squad, Old Bridge Road, Brielle, NJ 08730. Condolences and memories can

Daddy, today marks thirty days since God called you home to do your charity of kindness for him above. We miss you tremendously and your absent is felt through out the house, Brielle, and surrounding areas. I always called you the "Mayor of Monmouth County" due to the amount of people who knew you. I only hope and pray that us kids and your eight granchildren have the heart to love, be as kind and thoughtful as you were to all mankind. It's a beautiful feeling knowing that our dad was loved by so many people. I know you are looking down at us smiling because you are no longer suffering. I say to you daddy you did a heck of a job here on Earth and I know you will continue above. Daddy I love you to the Moon and miss you too much to describe in words.

Dear Elaine,

Even though I never met your dad, I feel I know him and feel his loss. Praying your family finds strength in all his wonderful memories.

There is so much turmoil in the world. Questionable decisions being made add to the confusion. Those in leadership positions in Washington, DC and across the country should have been at the Orender Family Home for Funerals on June 20th, 2009. They would have experienced firsthand what REAL AMERICA is all about. Hundreds of Americans, each bearing individual personal lifetime memories, thoughts of loss, love and affection, assembled to honor and respect a Leader who never realized he was a Leader! Larry Morgan was alive in every corner of that parlor with ALL the love, tears, hugs, and prayers of young and old - depending upon canes, wheelchairs, baby carriages and each other struggling with reality. Beautiful, but painfully sad - a picture with true meaning of REAL AMERICA - the vivid purple, red, white and blue colors of the American flag and memorial bunting waving in the breeze, against beautiful greenery at the Brielle First Aid Station - another salute to Larry Morgan - a Leader! The many Guest Book tributes entered, each are alive, hurting, loving, sincere, appreciative and thankful - each wanting to say more but words don't seem to cut it - ! Hey, Brielle, The General Store, and the rest of the world, we lost a part of America that Larry contributed so much to by just being LARRY 'LOVE' MORGAN but don't despair, Larry will always be alive in our hearts and our continued friendship with his wonderful family emulating Larry's great LOVE for family, friends and America!

Sissy and Children;
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting the rest of his family, I was so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I live across the street from the Allenwood General Store, and whenever he saw me, always a big wave and a super happy hello was always given. Sorry I heard about his passing so late, and I will miss his humor and laughter at the AGS. He will be missed, he was a super person. His very large picture in AGS plays a wonderful tribute to him. God Bless, my prayers are with you and your family.

Sissy and Children,

So sorry to hear of Larry's passing. My prayers are with you. "Uncle Larry" will be missed by the so many people. When I'm in Brielle I'll miss yelling out to him as he rides by. The community has certainly suffered a great loss. He always had a smile and a willingness to do whatever he could for anyone. Remember the "LOVE", he lived up to his name.

Dear Morgan family: We were so shocked to hear the loss of Larry. When we first came to Brielle in 1982 to open our store here in Brielle, Larry was one of our best customer and friend, he always helped or lended a hand for us when we needed it. His smile and laughter will always be on our minds. He was truly a very nice gentleman and a friend, we are so happy to have known him. May he rest in peace.

To The Family,
Larry "Love" was truly a bright beacon, guiding all he knew to the path of happiness. Happiness from being in the presence of his: bright smile, sharp wit, outstanding humor and his ever influencing joy. Love was a friendship ambassador of the highest rank appointed by the One Most High. He will forever live in our hearts.

Uncle Larry.
The Real Joy is having you as an Uncle. The Greetings You gave were always genuine whether it was just saying Hey Doug! or Hey You Buzzard. I have so many found Memories of you. From softball games, football games, To always being there for the family. I will miss rolling by the house in my Tractor Trailer, and blowing the horn at you as I passed by You never missed a wave. To Aunt Sissy and Family My Heart is heavy as I know yours are, but the good memories of "Love" always seem to lighten that load of grief.
May God Make His Mansion a Beautiful One.

Not easy having to accept that we've lost Larry Morgan and it sure isn't easy trying to describe what I think he meant to me, my family and my late husband, Bill Nowels and hundreds of others who knew him. A few years back Brielle lost a great statesman, George Goodfellow, and he was affectionately known as 'Mr. Monmouth County'. Larry's conduct was sterling, 24-carat gold during friendships, acquaintances, and/or passersby. Larry is an anchor for the image of a friendly Brielle, a great place to live. He was a living example of what he wanted for and from his own immediate family. He and Cissy can be proud of their contribution to the school systems, community service, and overall camaraderie throughout our town - the Morgan family - an icon. Although his footsteps are now silent, his giggle, friendly hello, warm smile, Larry will remain very much alive as he rests in honored glory in the hearts of his family and friends. Dear Larry, we've lost a wonderful person, a role model and a true patriot - 'MR. BRIELLE'. Rest in peace!

love
from the first day we met twenty one years ago, you treated me as though I was one of the family. I'll never forget the first time we had breackfast at the general store, everyone who came through the door called you by name and wished you a good morning, I thought to myself you must know everyone in Manasquan but after looking at all the smiling faces of those who greeted you I realized no, you were friends with everyone in Manasquan. they say a mans wealth is not judged by the number of coins in his pockets but by the number of true friends by his side. If this is true then you are truely the richest man I have ever known and it makes me proud to call you my friend, my hero, and my father
