George Yetka Obituary

George A. Yetka Jr.

Holmdel - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George A. Yetka Jr., age 63. He died suddenly at home, in Holmdel, NJ, on February 8, 2021. George grew up in Middletown, NJ in a family of eleven. He graduated from Middletown North in 1975, then attended Kean College. George worked for his father's mechanical contracting business, The George A Yetka Corporation. Eventually George started his own business.

George had many hobbies. He was a certified scuba diver and also earned a pilot's license. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, woodworking, and photography. None of these compared to the joy he received from being "Poppy!" He loved his family more than anything.

George was preceded in death by his father George A Yetka Sr., his brothers Greg and Wayne, and his nephew Jason Bucks. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Debbie Jo Yetka; His children: George Yetka III (Alicia), Meghan Fiorentino (Rich), Michael (Julianne), John (Kassandra); grandchildren: Julia, Mia, Savannah, Charlotte, Samantha, Lily, Jake, and Emily; mother Dolores; siblings: Susan Bucks (Tom), Cheryl Hieber, Scott Yetka (Nancy), Lisa Schultheis (Steve), Jennifer Herdeen (Michael), and Christine Yetka. He is also survived by his 18 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday 2/12/21 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank, NJ. In keeping with the current state mandates regarding COVID-19, face coverings must be worn by all visitors before entering the funeral home and visitors are also asked to observe social distancing. Visitors are asked to greet the family and then exit the funeral home so that others may also visit due to the limited, allowable capacity. Following a private service, family and friends are welcome to attend George's committal service on Saturday 2/13/21 at 11 am at Fair View Cemetery, 456 NJ-35, Red Bank, N.J. A celebration of life service will be held at his church at a later date. Donations may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bank, NJ.

To Debbie and to all my cousins,
There are no amount of words that can ease the heart of sorrow. Only fond memories to help delight in the man whose legacy will carry on through his children, grandchildren and from all of those he has touched throughout his lifetime. I am so grateful to have been apart of his life. Family trips together when I was younger with all of you and then growing up to being able to bring my own daughter to share in the hospitality, kindness and laughter that the Yetka family brings to one another. Above all else a tight knit family ran by a great man. Love always.
Love,
Casey, Riley Ann, Jarren

To Debbie, Dolores, Kids and Family,
The memories go back beyond 50 years to when we were all running around as kids at Cherry Tree Farm Rd at those family gatherings. I wish there was something I could say but right now the best I can offer is my love and prayers. His gift to all was the wonderful memories that he left us as a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Cousin. God bless and keep you all in this difficult time.

With Love,
Brian

One memory I have is when my cousin George showed me where he hid his snacks in his room so his brothers and sisters couldn’t get into them.
