I don’t know what to say. In the, apparently, tens of thousands that went to Boston University, Gerry stood out to me immediately as someone I just had to be friends with. And we did just that. From the first weeks in school until the end we were buddies. My goodness, he was an absolute riot, and one of a kind. He also got me dialed in to life at the “shore,” in our first couple of summers which were unforgettable. We had so much fun there are stories and can’t even speak of. I guess you just had to be there, and you most likely weren’t. He was simply one of a kind. That’s it. I lost touch with Gerry, Fletch , Fran, Dominic and a few others from that core group of friends once we graduated. I tried to find him at the onset of social media with zero luck. Now here I am living in the middle of the pacific in 2021 and I try one last time. Not good. My heart feels heavy as I mound someone who has been gone for so long and I haven’t seen forever. Maybe that speaks volumes, or at least, I hope it does. He was a special person.

PS. How he passed a math class when he was told by the professor that he stood no chance, is a story for the ages. In fact, it could be a movie in it’s self. I love you Gerry. Your secret is safe with me!

To the Hildebrandt family:
I met Gerry through mutual friends in the film business about 15 years ago. Gerry was the only actor that I ever reached out a hand to help. This was because he was pure and genuine and he possessed a truly dignified character. He did not go through life thinking of what others could do for him, he was too busy being himself and doing for others. All of you should be extremely proud to have had a son and brother like Gerry. The gift that he gives us now and forever is his memory, and this is a truly great gift to bestow.

My prayers are with you during this time. I could never fully express all that your Gerry has meant to me. His impact and presence in my life will forever be ingrained and celebrated. And although I will miss him more than I can express, my head will NEVER hang for him. I will always look to the skies in my moments of recollection.
I extend my deepest sympathies to all of you.

I wish to give all of you the same love and support you gave me during my loss. I know that Gerry was a very important part of Tommy's life, a sudo younger brother. Now they can be together again in a place where there is no pain, just peace. I can't put into words how sorry I am that you are all experiencing this loss. Time will ease the pain, anger, hurt, and emptiness. I feel better knowing that we will all have two wonderful guardian angels looking out for all of us. You are all in my thoughts. Much love always.
