Gisela Schilling, 80, of Scalea, Italy, formerly of the Vailsburg section of Newark, Edison, and Fords, NJ, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 18, 2012. Mom was born in Stuttgart, Germany. She truly lived her life to the fullest. Hers was one of constant adventure, travelling the world. She arrived in the USA with her sister, Elfriede in 1951, embarking on a career in the Beauty Industry. She graduated from the Wilfred Beauty Academy, Newark, NJ, quickly establishing a loyal clientele at the House of Silver Blondes, owned by her Aunt & Uncle "the Schwabs". In 1952, Dad arrived in America from Stuttgart to be with Mom and they soon married, living the true American Dream. Following Dad's passing in 1982, Mom continued to travel as they always had. She traveled from NY to Bermuda and back to NY via cruise ship for several years until moving back to Stuttgart, Germany. She was a philanthropist, ready to help anyone the world over. Moving to Italy several years later, she lived in some of the most beautiful areas, from Tuscany to Calabria. After settling in Scalea, her world travels continued, touching the lives of so many.

Gisela was predeceased by her beloved husband. Rudolf Schilling; parents, Otto and Louise Ebert; elder sister, Elfriede, Caldwell, NJ; brothers, Helmutt, Otto, Rolf, twin sister, Dorle and sister, Marianna, all Stuttgart, Germany. She is survived by her daughter, Vera Fozman and her husband Jim of Brick; her son, Edward Schilling and his wife Karen of Howell; six grandchildren, Stacey, Jessica Donald, Tammy, Tara, and Amanda; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Davianna, Aiden, Devin, Austin and Emily Grace. She is also survived by her brother, Heinz, and sister, Ruth of Germany; as well as many dear nieces and nephews in the USA and Germany.

Forever cherished in our hearts, Gisela's memory and life journey will be honored by her family at a private service.
