Gloria Cowherd Obituary
AGE: 92 • East Brunswick
Gloria Puskas Cowherd passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at home. She was 92. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in East Brunswick for over 50 years with her beloved husband and family. Prior to her marriage, she graduated with honors from Douglass College. She was a librarian at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, and met her beloved husband, George, at the library. She was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in East Brunswick, where she enjoyed fellowship in the Women's Sunshine Circle.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, George Taylor Cowherd, Jr. in 2009. Surviving are a son, Thomas Randall Cowherd of Morristown; two daughters, Margaret Meade Cowherd of Brewster, NY and Carolyn and her husband Anthony Phillips of East Brunswick; and two grandchildren, Rachael Leigh Phillips and Ryan Taylor Phillips.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00am in the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 10:00am Funeral Service at Aldersgate Methodist Church, 568 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, 840 Cranbury Road, South Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday 2-4 pm. Ms. Cowherd is a dear patient and friend, and she will be missed terribly.
We met in 2009, and I looked forward to seeing her every couple of months. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
