Hall Shultz Obituary

Hall Shultz

AGE: 83 • formerly of Beach Haven

Hall Shultz, 83, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Stuart Nursing and Restorative Care Center in Stuart, Fla. He was born in Skaneatles, N.Y. and lived in Bryn Mawr, Pa. He was a longtime summer resident of Beach Haven, where he was a member of the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club and the Episcopal Church of The Holy Innocence. Hall enjoyed a long and successful career in the field of human relations. Before retirement, he was a vice president of Acme Markets in Philadelphia, Pa. Prior to joining Acme Markets, he was a partner in Jewell, Shultz & Schaeffer -- a personnel and industrial relations firm in Manhattan, N.Y. He was the son of Searles G. Shultz and Dorothy H. Shultz of Skaneateles, N.Y. Hall was a graduate of Skaneateles High School, class of 1945 and a graduate of Hamilton College, class of 1951 where he was a member of Psi Upsilon. From 1945 to 1947, he served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, where he achieved the rank of sergeant. A skilled writer and an avid reader, Hall amassed a vast amount of knowledge over his lifetime. He had a passion for the Sunday N.Y. Times crossword puzzles, which he completed systematically in ink each week. He was an avid sports fan who loved college football. He loyally attended his sons' sporting events at the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia. Hall and his father, an alumnus of Cornell University, rarely missed a Cornell vs. Princeton or a Cornell vs. Penn football game. He faithfully followed the N.Y. Giants and Boston Red Sox. Hall was a great lover of dogs and he loved to travel, but most of all, he adored his family.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Shultz of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; sons, Peter Shultz of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Christian Shultz of Stuart, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Donna Shultz of Stuart, Fla.; grandchildren, Melissa Shultz of Stuart, Fla., and Lauren and Andrew Shultz of Beach Haven; and a great-grandson, Aidan Shultz of Stuart, Fla. He is also survived by a sister, Juanita Newell of Skaneatles, N.Y.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25 at St. James' Episcopal Church, Skaneateles, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary & Hospital, P.O. Box 1843, Jupiter, FL 33468.

You will be very much missed, but your legacy lives on... You and Eileen have raised two wonderful sons and I am so proud to be able to call one "brother". You have carried such great characteristics to Chris, most of all “love of family” and I have been blessed to have him as my brother for 30+ years. Best of all, I see this being past down to your grandson, Aidan. You should be so proud!!!
