Helen (Dutton) Wohlke, 91, of Surry Downs, Howell Township, NJ, died March 31, 2009. She was residing, during her illness, in Tucson, Arizona, near her only child, Allen L. Goodine. She died in hospice care at The Court of Tucson. She was born, at the Dutton homestead, in Windham, VT, March 6, 1918, a daughter of George L. and Clara M. Dutton. Helen married Henry Wohlke in 1967 and resided in Freehold, NJ for 41 years. She was a professional cook for over 30 years, employed by Mount Holyoke College, MA, with her last position, before retiring in 1980, as Assistant Manager of Cafeteria, Freehold Township High School, Freehold, NJ. Helen loved her family and enjoyed hosting guests, along with cooking, bird watching, rug braiding and crocheting. Her many friends and family will miss her laugh, warm smile and unfailing kindness.
She leaves her son and his wife, Nan McHugo; 2 grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Goodine; and a sister, Laura Howe, of Jamaica, VT; along with many nieces and nephews.
At her request, no funeral service is planned. A small graveside ceremony will take place at the Adelphia Cemetery, Howell Township, NJ, at the convenience of the family.
