IRVING SOBEL
AGE: 83 TINTON FALLS
Irving Sobel, of Tinton Falls, died Sunday, Sept. 7, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was 83. Born in Gorlice, Poland, he emigrated to the U.S. in 1949, settling in Brooklyn, N.Y. until moving to Aberdeen in 1963 and recently to Tinton Falls.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sally Wojland Sobel, in 2007. Surviving are two daughters, Laura Molinoff and her husband Steven of Manalapan, and Barbara Nami and her husband Robert of Cream Ridge; a brother, Allan Sobel and his wife Millie of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister, Pauline Borenstein of Montreal, Canada; and four grandchildren, Jesse Lee, Joshua Karl, Monica Lynn, and Benjamin Harley.
Funeral services will be held at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, Cranbury Road at Evergreen Boulevard, East Brunswick, followed by interment in Washington Cemetery, South Brunswick. For directions, please visit www.msmc.us.

I met Irving once this past July. He lived down the hall from my mom. We chatted for about a half hour and he was so sweet and witty. It's a shame he couldn't have enjoyed his new home and neighbors longer. He will be missed there.
