James Harran Obituary
Neptune - James Jay Harran, 88, of Neptune, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at home. He was born in New York City and has lived in Asbury Park and Neptune all of his life. Jim graduated from Asbury Park High School and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Monmouth University. He worked at Fort Monmouth for 36 years until his retirement. After retirement, Jim operated A Moment in Time Antiques and co-authored eight books on antiques. Jim thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the beach and watching Giants football. Jim was predeceased by his parents Anna and Hugh Harran, first wife, Doreen and second wife, Susan. Jim is survived by his loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister, nephew, and many cousins. Friends and family are invited to view from 1-4 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Ely Funeral Home, Neptune. Burial will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11AM at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. Condolences may also be offered online at www.elyfuneralhome.com.
