Gloria Harran

1934 - 2022

Waterford - Gloria (Wocekowski) Harran, of Waterford, more affectionately known to all as "Mimi," passed away suddenly Nov. 10, 2022, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Norwich, to Dominick and Eleanor Wocekowski. She married James Harran Oct. 8, 1955, who predeceased her in 2006.

She leaves behind her daughter Dorie Miles and husband Carl; daughter Susan Hinebaugh and husband Carl; son Daniel Harran; grandchildren, Emily and Sean Ellis, Molly Denison and Gene Barouse, Michael Denison, Samantha and Julian Wilson, Cameron and Amanda Hinebaugh and Jessica Harran; and great-grandchildren, Oliver Ellis, Bailey Barouse and Jasper and Theodore Wilson.

Gloria's cooking prowess was second to none; golumpkis were her trademark dish amongst so many other delicious creations. Mimi's personality and spunk made her one in a million. A party was never complete until Mimi arrived "dressed to the nines" as always, and a true foodie at heart who loved a good vodka gimlet. Nothing brought her more joy than visits with her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Her style, candor and downright chutzpah will never be forgotten, and sorely missed.

A private burial will be held Wednesday, Nov. 16, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:30 p.m. at Langley's at Great Neck Country Club, Waterford.
