James O'Shaughnessy Obituary
AGE: 87 • formerly of Middletown
James J. O'Shaughnessy, 87, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL. James was born in Newark, NJ and had been a resident of Fort Pierce for 30 years coming from Middletown, NJ. James served in the United States Navy.
Prior to retirement, James had worked as an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance in Red Bank, NJ for 25 years. James was a longtime basketball coach for St. Mary's Grade School in New Monmouth, NJ. James was socially active at the Spanish Lakes where he was an avid golfer and a member of the Spanish Lakes Golf Leagues and the NJ Bouncers. He also enjoyed playing cards and the arcades. He was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church in Fort Pierce.
He is survived by his sons, Michael O'Shaughnessy (Marta) of Vero Beach, FL, James W. O'Shaughnessy (Carol) of Mentor, OH, Kevin J. O'Shaughnessy of Middletown, NJ, Terence B. O'Shaughnessy (Colleen) of Warminster, PA; daughters, Marianne Stover of Hazlet, NJ, Nora Hanson (Bryon) of Middletown, NJ and 9 grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, with a Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Friends may visit the online website at www.aycock-hillcrest.com. Arrangements entrusted to Aycock Funeral Home, Ft. Pierce, FL.
