Janet McDonough Obituary
AGE: 84 • Matawan
Janet W. (Weaver) McDonough, 84, of Matawan, passed away, Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazlet. Born in Drummonville, Canada, she resided in Watchung and Little Egg Harbor before moving to Matawan. She was a homemaker. She volunteered her time at the Southern Ocean County Hospital and the Thrift Shop in Tuckerton. She was a member of the American Legion, Little Egg Harbor; and served on the Election Board, Watchung, for 15 years. She worked as a Legal Secretary for her husband at his law firm, Andrew L. McDonough, Attorney at Law, Little Egg Harbor.
Janet was predeceased by her beloved husband, Andrew L. McDonough; and her parents, Russell and Evelyn (Slutter) Weaver. She is survived by her children, Andrew L. McDonough and wife Nancy of Old Tappan, Michael McDonough of TN, Carol Cashin and husband Jack of Matawan, Joan Hughes and husband Bob of Brockton, MA, and Neil McDonough and wife Anne Marie of Neshanic Station; nine cherished grandchildren and six precious great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. Cremation will be private. A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 at the 1st Presbyterian Church, Matawan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society www.acs.org in memory of Janet.
