Joe was a sweet, wonderful and caring person. Both Joe and Gene were dear friends of ours for many years. We find comfort in the fact that they are together again. Joe, we will miss you very much and you both will live on in our hearts forever.
With our deepest sympathy and love,

Dear Friends and Church Family of Joe Bowen,
We have known Joe since he began working in the restaurant in Ocean Grove. (We were part of his "Restaurant Family.") He was a great guy to work with, a stickler for details, but a great sense of humor nonetheless. He was hard working, dedicated, honest, and caring always.
After the sale of "The Inn Place," Joe always looked out for our dearest friend and one of his - Mary Jane Sherry, now of Brick, NJ. When we moved away to NC in 2005, we knew he would always be there for Mary Jane - as was his dear partner Gene. We are so grateful to both Joe and Gene for their devotion to Mary Jane. We know how devastated she is by their loss as well.
Sending our deepest sympathy to all of you in NJ who loved Joe too.
His church music was the center of his life, we know. Now we pray his Lord will keep him safe and peaceful and never alone.
We wish we could be there with you now.
Sincerely,
Marcy, Jim, and Julia Martin
