Joseph Giroux Obituary
Ocean - Joseph A. Giroux, 76, of Ocean passed away surrounded by his family on June 15, 2021 after a long illness. Joseph was born on November 5, 1944 to Alexander and Catherine Giroux in Jersey City, and was raised in Audubon. He attended Audobon High School and graduated in 1963. He later attended Liberty University. Joseph met his loving wife Sophia at the Jersey Shore, and they married in January of 1999. Joseph was an active member of his community board. He loved horses and going to the track. He had a love of golf and all things sports. He especially loved watching his grand kids play sports. Joseph loved the beach and being by the shore. Joseph is predeceased by his parents Alexander Giroux and Catherine Giroux (nee Baker), as well as 3 brothers and 1 sister. Joseph is survived by his wife Sophia Giroux; daughter Renee Pescatore (John); son Joe Giroux; Grandchildren Alexa Giroux, Sydney Giroux, Ava Pescatore, and Ryan Pescatore; 3 sisters; 1 brother; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends. A mass will be held at St. Mary's church in Deal on Monday June 21, 2021 at 11am with military honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joseph's name to the Visiting Nurses Association. Please see elyfuneralhome.com for further information.
