JULIA D. DE FELICE
AGE: 20 TINTON FALLS
Julia D. DeFelice, 20, of Tinton Falls, was suddenly taken from her family in Dover, Del. on Friday, July 16, 2010. She was the oldest daughter of William "Bill" and Jill DeFelice, and sister to Olivia. Julia recently completed her junior year at Wesley College in Dover, where she was majoring in Exercise Science. She was a member of the women's soccer team and recently moved into the school's top 20 all-time scoring list. She was a 2008 graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School, where she was a premiere player on the soccer team and member of the 2005 state champion squad. She also was an outstanding member of the Ocean Elites traveling soccer team. Julia was loyal, honest, friendly and most of all, happy. She was a loving family member, a hard-working student, dependable employee and a leader on and off the soccer field. Her most rewarding job was working with disabled children through the Monmouth County Park System.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Thomas J. DeFelice Sr.; and her maternal grandparents, John and Catherine McVey. In addition to her parents and sister, Julia is survived in her immediate family by her paternal grandmother, Dolores V. DeFelice of Seaside Park; 11 aunts; 10 uncles; 27 cousins; in addition to countless extended family, friends, and teammates.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, July 21 at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank, where the family will receive condolences from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22 at St. James Church, 94 Broad St., Red Bank. The family has requested that donations be made to Red Bank Catholic Memorial Fund in memory of Julia DeFelice for the RBC girls' soccer team, 112 Broad St., Red Bank, NJ 07701.

I just wanted to wish the DeFelice family my sincere condolences. I've known Jill since 10th grade and remember Julia as a baby and little girl. Jill was pregnant with Julia at my wedding and Jill used to babysit for my daughter who loved to play with Julia. God Bless you Jill, Bill and Olivia.

Julia, you have forever impacted my life, my families lives, and each person you came in contact with. You are an angel and there is not one day that goes by that I don't think of you, miss you, or just want you close to me. I love you so.

It's almost been a year and it is still so surreal. I miss you more than anything and pray to you daily. You were one of my best friends since I first moved to New Jersey and we managed to stay that close throughout high school and college. You were one of the most genuine and fabulous people I have ever met and love you more than anything. My prayers go out to your family and anybody whose life you have changed.

This is a message to my favorite neice (sorry Olivia, she came first you know). Not a day goes by where my heart doesn't ache. You were the sunshine of your Mother and Father and they had bragging rights which were definitely justified. Uncle Jack and I don't know how to cope. Tears came to my eyes for several reasons. I am a parent of a 19 year old, Maximilian, and I cannot imagine your pain. And seeing my name, and reading about her life, she loved life as I do.
