Julia-Marie Charles Obituary
AGE: 19 • Ocean Gate
Julia-Marie Charles passed away March 21st 2014 struck down whilst crossing the street, she was 19 years old. She graduated from Central Regional High School this past June, and has since become a full time student at Ocean County College. For the past three years, she has been employed at the local McDonalds and was recently promoted to a management position. She was a devout Christian, who was involved in her church, Emmanuel Community Church, as well as an active participant in missionary work.
While in school Julie was an extremely active athlete. She played soccer for 9+ years, ran track, played field hockey, lacrosse, softball, and basketball. She loved outdoor sports as well, kayaking was her favorite.
Julie is survived by her beloved mother, Kathleen Blomquist; her sister, Jaime-Lynne and her brother, Tyler; her devoted grandmother, Beatrice Blomquist; her aunt, Susan Beyer; her aunt, Bernadette and uncle Bernie Blomquist as well as her cousins, Steven and Alisha Beyer. She is predeceased by her older brother, Michael Blomquist and her grandfather, Bernard Blomquist.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 26th at Emmanuel Community Church, on 331 Wheaton Blvd. in Bayville from 2pm-5pm and 6pm-9pm. Relatives and friends are invited to assemble on Thursday at 9:30am before the Funeral Services begin at 10am. Internment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 75 Cedar Road, Toms River. You may be gone physically but you'll never be gone from my heart. You moved so many people. Accomplished quite a few things. Even though we talked very little my heart dropped to my stomach when I heard the news. I cried and cried. We lost someone who was very valuable. I met you when we were in 8th grade. We had all but 3 classes together. You were so smart and sociable and a real athlete too. I remember us being on the CRMS soccer teams. How our squads would scrimmage against one another. It actually feels like it just happened. But you're never going to be gone. Never. You'll always have a spot in my heart and many of others as well. R.I.P Julia. We all miss you very much. We will all see you again someday.

I didn't know Julie very well however she was a very dear friend of my son. Julie was a sweet, friendly free spirit with an aura of positive energy always. I would see her often at work and around town and she was always happy and went out of her way to say hello and talk to me. She was a daughter, sister, niece and friend. Our community lost a shining star. I greive for you Julie, your family and friends. May you all find peace and comfort at this very sad and difficult time. My deepest condolences.

Rest easy Julia! I remember when we use to hang out when I lived in Ocean Gate with my family. You were an amazing person and everyone was lucky enough to have even know you. You are one of a kind and will make many angel friends up there! The positive part is that you are safe up there now and forever!

Julia-Marie was one of a kind. She was caring and friendly, and gave of herself to all. She was so helpful with the Challenger League athletes at CRHS, coming every Sunday morning with her brother, Tyler and friend, Andrew, when most kids would have slept in. Our hearts are broken at this tragic loss of such a sweet, kind girl. Rest in peace and may God hold you forever in the palm of his hand. May your family forever cherish your memory and know that you were a very special person.

I knew Julia from being her study hall teacher a couple of years ago. She was a bright spot in that room. She always made a point to say hello after her time in study hall. I would often see her when I went through the Mickey D's drive-thru. She was always friendly and put a smile on my face. She was beautiful girl. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I had the honor of being a leader of the youth group as well as part of the mission team that Julie was a part of-she had an infectious smile that warmed a room.I looked forward to her julie hug every time I had the privilidge to be in her presence.she always had such positive input and was always there for any ones needs,she has definately left a legacy and was an encouragement to me I will miss her.
