Keith Roberts Obituary
Barnegat - Keith Roberts of Barnegat, NJ passed away suddenly on March 21, 2018, at the age of 56.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Bud Lake, NJ and Florida before moving to Toms River, NJ. A graduate of Toms River High School North, Class of 1980, he also attended Ocean County Vocational Technical School. During his teen years, Keith rode his dirt bike through the many wooded trails of Toms River. His passion for mechanics started in childhood which led to his career as a highly skilled heavy equipment mechanic.
As a teenager in Toms River, Keith met and fell in love with his wife of 35 years, Lisa. They settled in Barnegat where they raised their three daughters and welcomed grandchildren. The family spent many cherished summers boating on the Barnegat Bay. A dedicated family man, Keith took great joy in the days he spent surrounded by his loving family, whether it was a holiday or a day spent by the pool while barbequing. Also, he was a proud fan of the Giants football team. Keith was a caring person who was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Preceded in death by: his parents Donald and Catherine Roberts, brothers Kenneth Roberts, Dale Roberts and wife Connie Roberts, nephew Shawn Roberts, niece Jill Wallace.
Survived by: Wife, Lisa Roberts (nee Cavanaugh), three daughters Serena Roberts and granddaughter Scarlett Roberts, Raquel and husband, Harold Selander, and their children Ava and Arthur, and Corey Ann Roberts. Mother-in-law Patricia Cavanaugh. Aunt Marilyn (Cookie) Jarnecki, and many loved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. April 29, 2018,with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. at the Manahawkin Baptist Church, 400 Beach Ave, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Keith's memory to Deborah Heart and Lung Center via deborahfoundation.org.

Mom asked me to write this last week but with her surgery etc. I unfortunately didn't get to it. Keith from the time you were a tyke you amazed us. I remember you asking Dad if you could fix the lawn mower and he said yes thinking it would keep you busy. Before long you fixed it and asked to use it to make money mowing lawns--you amazed everyone! You always had this gift moving up to larger equipment and along the way also came a special gift for caring for people and always ready to lend a hand with true sincerity and a smile on your face and in your heart. the same week you passed, you were still caring about how I was doing which is a true picture of your forever mark on family and friends which will last forever. The brightest light in this is we will see each other again one day and the celebration will be endless.Love your brokenhearted Aunt Cookie My prayers are daily for your family . They reflect your inner beauty as they know who you were and the legacy your imprint made on them will guide them through hard times that life sends though God wins when we trust Him. Keith, where do I begin, to say all the things about you that I will always remember... your hospitality when we would all get together for a family barbeque in your back yard or for Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas and for the Trick or Treat walk, through the neighborhood on Halloween. I could go on and on....mostly, I remember the love that surrounded you and your smiling face, the hugs, your funny jokes and all you did for me to make my life better. You and Lisa, my beautiful daughter, were always there for me. I know you will watch over her and the girls, Serena, Scarlett, Corey, Raquel and your new grandson, Arthur and his precious sister, Ava Marie.

Keith, you are one of those guys that was known as a good guy. A good husband, father & grandfather. The good guy... and sometimes God takes a good guy to be on his team and that is how I make sense of this. I know you will always be looking over and protecting your beautiful family! From childhood I always knew Keith had a light inside him---something rare--a pure soul--- He was such a good kid, I don't remember his middle name but could tell you Kenny and Dale's because when they were being reprimanded by Aunt Cathy she used first and middle names!! He was so happy with his beautiful wife, children and grandchildren. I am saddened that we eventually lived far apart for the moments missed together. Our hearts are broken. We are honored to have had Keith and his family as next door neighbors. A unselfish man, who always extended himself and was there for us whenever we needed him. We feel that you are on a trip and will return. Whenever, we looked out the window, Keith was there, working on the yard, playing with the dogs or his precious grand-kids. We admire Keith and his ability to be able to work on anything handed to him. We will never forget your smile and affection for all.
