LUCETTE "LUCY" A. BALACCO
AGE: 77 RED BANK
Lucette "Lucy" A. Balacco, 77, of Red Bank, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2011. For 22 years, she worked for the Army and Air Force Post Exchange at Ft. Monmouth and also at the Patterson Army Hospital, where she was a dietician. She retired in 1997.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband, George. She is survived by her son, Samuel and wife, Dorothy of Red Bank; a daughter, Linda and husband, George Chant of Ocean Township; two brothers, Pierre and Jeán Forenza of France; and five granddaughters, Melissa, Maria, Christina, Natalie and Noelle.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14 at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Bridge Avenue, Red Bank. Interment will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. The family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to SBHPCC @ Monmouth Medical Center, c/o St. Barnabas Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 95 Old Short Hills Road, 1st Floor, W. Orange, NJ 07052 or online @ www.monmouthfoundation.org/giving/index. The family would also like to give special thanks to her doctors, Dr. Kenneth Granet and Dr. David Sharon.

I've been an employee of PAHC since 1984. I was working on the ward as a ward secretary when George passed. I dearly loved Lucy. We had many laughs together. She was a lovely person. I cried with her when she told me how sick she was. Lucy was a big part of the Patterson family. Everyone here will miss her. God Bless...

Deepest sympathy to all of you with the passing of Lucy. I work at the PAHC and had the pleasure of meeting Lucy as a patient at the facility. She will be dearly missed. God bless.

To the Balacco and Chant families: It was an honor and priviledge to take care of Lucy. I will never forget her...we shared a brief, but wonderful time together on this earth.
