AGE: 94 • Edison
Marie DeVito, 94, of Edison died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the NJ State Veterans Home at Menlo Park. Born in New York City, she resided in Brooklyn most of her life then in Staten Island before moving to New Jersey in 1978. Marie was a devoted mother and homemaker, but also had been an office professional before her retirement from US Gypsum Company. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Brick.
She was predeceased by two sisters Eleanor Isenberg and Elvira Abbene. Marie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph M. DeVito Sr.; a daughter Barbara Barghaan and her husband Dennis of Lincroft ; a son Joseph M. Devito Jr. and his wife Janis of Raritan; four grandchildren Dennis Jr., Scott, Joseph III and Janelle; three great-grandchildren Kayla, Joseph IV and Ashley and a sister Estelle Defino of Naples FL.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, May 21st, 2013 from 5:00-9:00 PM and services will take place on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 9:45 AM from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home 568 Middlesex Ave. (RT 27) Metuchen, followed by a 10:15 AM Mass of Resurrection at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral on 32 Elm Ave Metuchen. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. To send condolences visit www.costello-runyon.com In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to The NJ State Veterans Home at Menlo Park (Attention: Christine Caratozzolo).
