AGE: 53 • Brick
Michael L Koss, 53, of Brick passed away at his home on Friday, June 3, 2011. Michael was born in Shamokin, PA and was raised in the Belmar/Wall shore area. Michael attended Wall High School and received a varsity letter in football, baseball and wrestling. He was a graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology. He worked as a machinist for Bendex for 20 years and a Digital Energy Field Engineer for over 12 years and has been an employee of Granite International for the past 2 years. Michael was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed surfing, hunting, fishing and loved being at the beach.
Michael was predeceased by his sister Mary Carol Koss Peterson in 2004. He is survived by his parents Leonard Koss of Wall and Gertrude "Trudy" Koss of Brick; a son Russell Koss and his mother Marianne Brodmerkel both of Wall. Michael is also survived by two sisters Theresa "Tracie" Koss and her partner Sharon Carlough of Brick and Margaret "Peggy" Koss Smith and her husband Doug of Wall; two nieces Moria Peterson Egan and Ashley Peterson Walker; a nephew Jake Peterson and a grand niece Kassidy.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday June 7 from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Surfriders Foundation PO Box 760 Belmar, NJ 07719. I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was an awesome friend to me in school. I met him at our father's company picnic right before he started 6th grade at Wall Intermediate. He was always the guy who made everyone smile and made my days in Wall "days to remember" God Bless him and all of your family.

As we begin this with saddness.Mike was a great friend. He loved life and the outdoors.He always greeted you with a smile.He had only kind words for everyone.When we pass the doors of life, then and only then we realized that God have given us a chance to meet loving people . I can't begin to tell you how sad we feel.Mike was a great guy. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone.He loved life and loved being outdoors.He was a great friend.We were lucky enough to have him in our lives.When we pass all the doors of life and see how short our time is here.,Then and only then we realized how fortunate we are when we meet someone like Mike.He will be greatly missed by us.
