Nicholas R. Preziotti

AGE: 77 • Middletown

Nicholas R. Preziotti, 77, of Middletown, died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at home surrounded by his family. Nick was born in Brooklyn, NY to Richard and Helen (Rubino) Preziotti. He is predeceased by his parents. He retired from The New York Times in 1999 after a 45-year career in advertising sales.

Nick is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia Anne (Conahan) Preziotti; his four children, Susan Preziotti of NYC, Christine Troost and her husband Ed of McKinney, TX, Richard Preziotti and his wife Elaine of West Caldwell, and Donna Preziotti of Deerfield Beach, FL; his granddaughters, Gia and Sasha Preziotti; and his siblings, Joseph Preziotti and Janet DiCosta, both of Staten Island.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, with a funeral service at 7 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, by Deacon Arthur Fama of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church. Internment will be private. Nick's family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in his memory to the American Liver Foundation (www.liverfoundation.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org). I worked with Nick for many years at The New York Times. He was kind, warm, encouraging, supportive, and most of all, funny. He had a great wit, and was greatly admired by his colleagues and his clients alike. He was one of the best. My sincere condolences to his wife Pat, his children, and the family.
