Nicholas Velardo Obituary
Toms River - Velardo, Nicholas Jr., age 86, on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Born and raised in Lodi, Nicholas worked as a Skein Dyer for Paterson Skein Dyeing Co. for many years and proudly served his country in the U.S Army during the Korean War. Nicholas was an avid bowler, appearing in the American Bowling Hall of Fame. He loved to play golf and most of all, spending time with his loving family.
Nicholas is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley Velardo (nee: Kimble), loving daughter Mary Anne Smith and her husband Charles of Pompton Lakes, and daughter-in-law Lois Velardo of Toms River. He is survived by 7 granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his children, Nicholas and Karen Velardo, and his sisters, Concetta Keiser and Gloria Pecchia.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. www.browningforshay.com.

We offer our deepest sympathy for your loss. I have never heard anyone speak with more affection than Jim when he used to speak of 'Shirley and Nick" and how he was rescued by your love and kindness.
We have made a contribution to the Alzheimer Foundation in Nick's memory.
