Richard R. Fink, 86, died peacefully at the Harrogate Health Center, Lakewood, on January 25, 2016 with his wife at his side. He is survived by his wife Marianne, daughter Janet Plant and husband Daniel and grandsons Devin and Christopher from Maine; daughter Diane Plott and husband Herbert Moore and granddaughter Ashley from South Carolina; sister-in-law Betty Winter and husband Steve from North Carolina. Brothers John and Carl predeceased him.

Richard served in the Coast Guard as an electrician technician, graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering, and worked for 35 years as a mechanical engineer. He had vast interests

and talents, including building an experimental airplane and flying solo to breakfast fly-ins. He also built model airplanes that he flew. Richard spent endless hours at the drawing board designing simple and complex items and had numerous patents. If he needed an item not on the market or not to his liking, he built it. Richard was very active in community theatre on stage as an actor, stage manager, or recording sound effects. His life-long love was astronomy. He spent many evening hours at his 5 telescopes and at Ocean County College's Planetarium where he was a part-time lecturer and did equipment repair. Richard made his own Kaluha and loved chocolate chip cookies and brownies.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Special thanks to all the church and Harrogate friends for their support and especially to all the excellent nursing staff.

We will miss you. Rest in peace.
