AGE: 60 • Lavallette
Richard J. Hoffman, age 60, of Lavallette, NJ passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at home. Richard was born in Passaic, NJ to his parents, Edmund and Juliana Hoffman. He lived in Garfield, NJ for many years, moving to Lavallette 4 ½ years ago. He was a Technician and Splicer for Verizon in Passaic and the entire Bergen County area. Richard was the administrator of the Moose Lodge Ortley Beach #399, a member of the Elks Lodge #1875, the VFW Post #4715 of Point Pleasant and the IBEW Local #827.
Richard is survived by his longtime companion Mary Sullivan; his two daughters Renee Sebok of Clark, NJ and Erica Brunton of Lincoln Park, NJ; a brother Ronald Hoffman of Franklin, NJ; a sister Regina Surgent of Franklin Lakes, NJ and four grandchildren Georgia, Reese, Emma and Oliver.
The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00pm with a funeral service at 4:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd. Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Moose Lodge #399, 1801 Bay Blvd. Ortley Beach, NJ 08751. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com
