Robert "Bob" E. Buchsbaum

Little Silver

Robert "Bob" E. Buchsbaum, of Little Silver, New Jersey, died peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2011. Born in Montclair in 1925, and then raised in Spring Lake, NJ, he graduated from Lawrenceville School. Bob went on to serve as Staff Sergeant in the Army, seeing duty in both the Philippines and Japan. He graduated from Princeton University in 1949, then went on to become a partner at W.E. Hutton and later retired from Merrill Lynch. Bob served as President of Rumson Community Appeal and also as board member of Seabright Beach Club. An active member of the Rumson Country Club, he is still remembered for his hilarious performance as Mr. Cellophane at their 75th anniversary celebration. He will also be missed on the croquet court and bridge table by his friends and competitors.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia (nee Harvey) Buchsbaum; two children, William (wife, Lisa) and Barbara Movelle (husband, Robert) and four adoring grandchildren, Lauren, Christine, Sean and Rita.

Visitation will be Monday, March 14th, 3:00-6:00 PM at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. The funeral service and burial are private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Bob's memory to a Charity Of Your Choice.
