I am truly going to miss you. It seemed like only yesterday we started our career together at Fort Sill and then at Knox. I was still looking forward to us going through Selection together and then open up the company we were talking about. You are a great friend and I am truly going to miss you, I just wish we had more time together.

We had just seen Jim in Watkins Glen, New York, and asked how the boys were doing. Jim said Nick was doing well, and there were a couple places Bart may be deployed, and he was hoping for the safer of the two. Receiving the call was so unexpected after Bart had been in such a dangerous place to fall in the line of duty at home. Not unexpected that he was performing his job and doing the right thing. Bart, though young, is an example for how all of us should try to lead our lives. He was always smiling, and just such a joy to be around.
Bart’s friends and family are in our hearts and thoughts.

In memorium,
I attended the University of Florida with Bart and knew him through the Army ROTC program. I cannot say we were close friends or spent any time together outside of cadet functions. I cannot say I knew him well. I can say this: Bart was a good person. He invested time in other cadets and always wore a smile. I not surprised to hear he earned his commission despite his heart condition. This was his nature; steadfast and determined. The United States Army, and our world in general, is a colder place from his death. Though we never served together, I am sure Bart made a fine leader.
Please take comofort in Christ during this time of grieving. Matthew 5:4 says, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Why was such a promising life apparently cut short? Only God can answer this question. May He that can wipe away every tear clasp your family in the palm of His hand.

Ginny, Jack & family - We are so very saddened to learn of Bart's passing; a wonderful, bright, ambitious young man who loved his family and his country. Bart was like a second son to us; he spent many days in our home in Elmira. Bart, you will never be forgotten, you will shine in our hearts and minds forever. Please know that our deepest prayers and thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.

We are shocked and saddened about this unfortunate loss. Fletcher was a great guy and a great Soldier. He always strived for perfection and he always succeeded. He had a huge heart and was not afraid to show it. His big heart was easily noticed when he was around Katie. It was obvious to all that he truly loved her. Fletcher, not only did you set the standard as a Soldier, you also set the standard as a person. We will pray for Bart, Katie and his family.

How does one put into words how sorry I am for the loss your family has suffered. Bart was such a wonderful young man and will be greatly missed. I am so glad that we all had a chance to see each other, even if only for a few short hours, while I was in the states in March. I miss you all and wish I could be with you in person, but know that I am with you in spirit and prayers.
Love to you all,

Dear Family of Bart,
We are so saddened by the news of Bart's passing. Even though we didn't know him personally, we know how blessed he was to have had such a loving family. When we ran into Ginny this past Spring at the Stuart art show, it was like the 12+ years since preschool at J.B. Elementary had completely disolved and we were right back there again. We know the impact you had on my daughter and family back then and the huge heart you have for others. He was blessed to have experienced true love. Heartfelt Sympathy,

To the family of Bart.
My deepest sympathy for your loss. Although, I did not have the privilege & honor of knowing Bart, when I looked at his photograph in the (Elmira) Star-Gazette & having served from 1954 to 1955 at Fort Hood, Texas with the 4th Armored Division, I immediately felt a connection with him. He made the ultimate sacrifice for his country. Thank you for bringing such a fine young man into the world.

Like so many, I want to be able to say something that will be helpful and supportive. What I do know is that without Bart we wouldn't have had Ginny helping us understand what conscious parenting is all about. Her support and influence has changed my life and my families life in an extraordinary way. I remember Ginny saying " if you had easy children, you wouldn't be here" Bart was a beautiful example of someone who didn't 'fit the mold' but someone who accomplished great things in life. The fact that his life was taken at the age of 24 doesn't change what he accomplished or the impact he had on all of us. God Bless

Broken Dreams
As children bring their broken toys with tears to us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God because He was my friend.
But instead of leaving him in peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help with ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried "How could be so slow!!"
"My child", he said "What could I do, you never did let go!!!"

Family of Lt. Fletcher, My husband is in Lt Fletcher's Unit. He said he was a good man. You all have our deepest sympathies during this difficult time. This by far, is the most difficult thing in life for a child to go before your parents and for Katie to loose her life partner. We also lost our daughter- she was almost 15 years old and hit by an 18 wheeler truck while running cross country practice. This was March 5, 2007. If it is any comfort to you- know that things will get better as you go thru your grief journey. Even though your Bart is in heaven, he will always be with you. Love never dies. Grief is like the weather. While some days are very stormy, others may have brief rain showers. Know that the sun continues its promise to shine.
Our deepest sympathies,
Dawn and Captain Lance Ware, 2/8 CAV

Ginny, Jack and family,
My heart goes out to you and your family at this time. I last saw Bart at Michael's assignment night in June at Vance AFB. He came up to me, gave me a big hug and said, "How's it going, Mom?" I have pictures of him on my photo frame at work from that night. I still remember all the times the boys were playing in the Stuart Middle School jazz band and going to their performances. I am so sorry for your loss.

As members of the Concious Discipline family we feel we have had the great privalege of knowing Bart. Ginny has shared with all of us Barts' accomplishments, especially relating to the decision to serve his country. We all could hope to have the kind of relationship Bart had with his Mom. What a legacy Ginny, you have so much to be proud of. Our deepest most heartfelt sympathies go out to your entire family. You have the amazing gift to heal families, we hope we can do the same for you.
With all our love,

It's important that we live every day like it's our last; live the dream. Lt Fletcher lived his lifetime dream. He left us early, but he left with his dreams fulfilled and that's important. He IS a hero.
